Tuesday and Wednesday morning please go to Ward 9 for 7:15 am where you will meet Mr Mullan.
This is a compulsory session where you will have bedside teaching along with opportunities for supervised Hx taking and examination of patients pre-op. In advance you will have been taken through an abdominal examination in week 1. Please also watch the video on the QUB Med Portal by Ms Eunice Minford for abdominal examination and hernia examination.
Use these surgical cases for your surgical case report. Print out and bring a copy of the template to the ward. In your own time go back and see the patient, take a Hx, examine and review their patient notes.
Students will attend SWAH main theatres with aim of knife to skin time 9am. Please arrange that 2/3 of you will attend at a time. I suggest 3 in the morning and 2 in the afternoon.
There will also be the opportunity to go to see the patient on the ward with the anesthetist.
